DistributionSolomon Islands, Papua New Guinea (Alotau and Bougainville Island), 0–915 m elevation. (S Pacific)

Type locality: Buin, Bougainville Island, Papua New Guinea (6u449S, 155u419E, 60 m).

TypesHolotype: IRSNB 2029, a 427 mm female collected by J. B. Poncelet, 2 June 1938. 
Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: the report from Alotau may be a misidentified or erroneous report (Kraus 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
