DistributionPapua New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago ((Duke of York, New Britain, New Ireland, Umboi), 0–1,065 m elevation).

Type locality: Duke of York Island, ENB Province

Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: Range has been restricted due to exclusion of several species like Acutotyphlops solomonis.

Synonymy: The genera Martinwellstyphlops HOSER 2012 and Swileytyphlops HOSER 2012 have been rejected and synonymized with Acutotyphlops by KAISER et al. 2013.
