Type locality: Vallon des Singes, à Médine, Haut Sénégal.

TypesType: BMNH 1946.8.27.73 (and possibly additional specimens). 
CommentDistribution: WELCH 1982 erroneously gave Senegal as distribution (Joger 1979, 1983). MEDIANNIKOV et al. 2012 do not list Western Sahara. 
EtymologyNamed after George Albert Boulenger (1858 - 1937), herpetologist at the British Museum of Natural History, London, and the most productive herpetologist in history (Uetz 2010).
