Type locality: St.-Martin and Anguilla.

Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: “So far as yet known, this distinct species is confined to the small island of St,. Martins, in the Spanish West Indies, which has an area of only about thirty square miles.” 
EtymologySix specimeils were sent to the Academy Natural Sciences by Dr. R. E. Van Rijgersma of that island. I dedicate the species to him in recognition of his labors in endeavoring to lay a basis for the complete zoology of that island” (from COPE 1869: 155). Hendrik E. van Rijgersma (1835–1877), was a Dutch naturalist and physician who practiced medicine on St. Martin during 1863–1877 (Holthius 1959). He collected plants and animals and sent the latter to the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia.
