Diagnosis
Comment	For illustrations see Cochran, 1941; Williams and Rand, 1969. Species group: Deiroptyx hendersoni species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).
Etymology	Named after Dr. Philip Jackson Darlington Jr. (1904-1983), an evolutionary biologist, zoogeographer, and beetle taxonomist.
