Type locality: "Vicinity of the Settlement, Anegada, British Virgin Islands"

TypesHolotype: MCZ 77220 
DiagnosisDIAGNOSIS: A subspecies of Typhlops richardi characterized by far anterior reduction of scale rows, a low degree of labial flare, a high number of vertebrae (226-238), large size, and a low number (nine) of pigmented scale rows [from THOMAS 1966: 190]. 
CommentSubspecies: Typhlops richardii naugus THOMAS 1966 is now considered as a valid species.
