DiagnosisDiagnosis: A. arangoi can easily be separated from A. major based on differences in coloration, body size (compare Figs 5a and 5i, j), and ventral and subcaudal counts (summarized in Table 3), as originally suggested by Prado (1939) (Arteaga et al. 2022). 
CommentSynonymy: SCHARGEL et al. 2013 synonymized arangoi with major. However, Arteaga et al. 2022 revalidated arangoi based on morphological and molecular grounds.

EtymologyA. arangoi was named after Professor Andres Posada Arango (1839-1923), a Colombian physician and natural scientist.
