Type locality: 61-m elevation in Municipality of Masbate City, Masbate Province, Masbate Island, Philippines (12° 21’ 01’’ N, 123° 37’ 42’’ E; WGS-84.  
Reproduction 
TypesHolotype: PNM 9722 (CDS Field No. 5125, formerly KU 323933), adult male, collected in rotting stump in disturbed, residential habitat (1000 to 1230 h) 4 September 2009, by CDS and J. Fernandez 
CommentHabitat: semifossorial and typically found in dry, rotting material inside or underneath decaying logs or in loose soil, forest floor detritus, and leaf litter of lowland forest. 
Etymology“We take pleasure in naming the new species after our friend and dedicated field collaborator Jason B. ‘‘Tungao’’ Fernandez, with thanks for years of hard work toward the research of semifossorial lizards.”
