CommentVenomous!

Synonymy: Sunagar et al. 2021 proposed a new name, Bungarus romulusi, for a krait from Karnataka. This name was not Code-compliant, hence Wüster & Kaiser 2023 rejected the name which we temporarily include in B. caeruleus as the only krait known from Karnataka.

This is one of four common venomous snakes of medical importance in India. The others are Naja naja, Echis carinatus, and Daboia russeli.

Distribution: Possibly in Bhutan (Lenz 2012).
