Diagnosis | DESCRIPTION: Size large (SVL to 280 mm); tail to 12 mm, short, not tapering, rounded terminally; no caudal autotomy; body annuli 274-302, caudal annuli 12-17; dorsal segments 20/midbody annulus; ventral segments IS/midbody annulus; rows of postgenials 2; 1 row of postmalar chin shields; 6-11 precloacal pores in 2 separated lateral series; 6-10 precloacal segments; head strongly compressed laterally and with prominent rostral projection; no nasal suture; 1 temporal. Dorsum (as preserved) speckled with brown; head with central light stripe from prefrontal onto nape, often with a pair of lateral bars (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 564).
