Diagnosis | Description: Diameter of the eye shorter than its distance from the mouth; rostral visible from above; frontal more long than broad, as long as the parietals; one praeocular; postocular fused with the supraocular; five upper labials, third and fourth entering the eye, fifth largest; first lower labial in contact with its fellow behind the mental; both pairs of chin-shields in contact. Scales in 13 rows; ventrals 146; anal entire; subcaudals 21. Tail ending in a point (De Rooij 1917: 168). Color: Blackish-brown above; a white lateral line along the second and third rows of scales. Lower surface lighter brown. Length of head and body 233 mm.; tail 12 mm (De Rooij 1917: 168). |
