CommentDiagnosis. Calyptotis ruficauda differs from its congeners in possessing prefrontal scales and a well-developed external ear opening with a scaleless tympanum. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “rufus” = red and “cauda” = tail. The tail is actually “coral pink” according to Greer 1983.
