Type locality: Hall Sound, Papua New Guinea.

TypesNeotype: QM 127717 from Kairuku, Yule Island, Hall Sound, Papua New Guinea, here designated by Ingram & Covacevich 1989; Holotype: originally MAMU (now lost).
Syntypes: MSNG 28052-3, from Yule Is. and coast near Mt. Epa, Papua New Guinea [Heteropus Albertisii]
