Type locality: Pulau Sukur (08°07’S, 122°08’E) [‘‘eiland Soekoer’’ (1⁄4 Roesa Linguete)], Indonesia Map legend:

TypesHolotype: ZMA 15316A, adult male, collected March 1908 by G. A. J. van de Sande. Paratypes. ZMA 15316B–L. All paratypes derive from Pulau Sukur and share the same collecting data as the holotype. 
EtymologyThe specific name sukur derives from this species’ homeland, Pulau Sukur. It is proposed as a noun in apposition.
