Types	Holotype: RMCA (= MRAC), a 370 mm male (C. Christy, 1912-1914).
Diagnosis
Comment	Type species: Chamaelycus christyi BOULENGER 1919 is the type species of the genus Chamaelycus BOULENGER 1919. Phylogenetics: There seems to be no DNA data for this genus. Pyron et al. 2013 assigned Chamaelycus to Lamprophiidae inc. sedis while Marques et al. 2018 assigned it to Colubridae. Key (to the 4 species of Chamaelycus): De Witte 1963: 635.
Etymology	Named after the “Ministere des Colonies”, Dr. C. Christy, who collected the types during his expedition in the Districts of Stanleyville, Upper Uele, and Ituri in 1912-1914.
