Diagnosis 
CommentHabitat: freshwater (swamps, rivers) 
EtymologyThe name acutirostris is formed from the Latin acutus (make pointed, sharpen) and rostrum (snout) and refers to the somewhat pointed snout of this species compared with that of the North American Chelydra serpentina.
