TypesHolotype: unknown (fide SANG et al. 2009). 
CommentDistribution: Possibly in Bhutan (Lenz 2012). Not on Pulau Tioman according to GROSSMANN & TILLACK 2004. Not on Sulawesi fide DE LANG & VOGEL 2005.Reports from Indonesia represent C. paradisi (VOGEL, pers. comm.)

Behavior: diurnal.

Type species: Coluber Ornatus SHAW 1802 is the type species of the genus Chrysopelea BOIE in SCHLEGEL 1826.
