Type locality: "Ibundo, lower Sepik River, northern New Guinea".

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: KAISER et al. 2013 rejected all names coined by HOSER in or after 2000.

Distribution: populations south of the central highlands have been split off as C. halli. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
