TypesHolotype: WAM R17654; Paratype AMS (AM) R90488 23 mi. S Yalgoo, WA (J.R. Ford, 22.xii.1965). Formerly WAM R26439; locality given as Gnows Nest by Storr.
Holotype: WAM R63277, collected by Messrs L.A. Smith and R.E. Johnstone on 21 April 1979 [johnstonei] 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: A member of the leonhardii group, distinguishable from mimetes by presence of pale spots in dark laterodorsal stripe and absence of pale midlateral stripe (Storr 1974: 89). 
CommentSee also Ctenotus schomburgkii. HUTCHINSON & DONELLAN (1999) elevated Ctenotus uber orientalis to full species status. According to these authors, STORR’s type series of uber orientalis is composite, containing orientalis, olympicus, and septenarius.

Limb morphology: 5 digits, 5 toes (Singhal et al. 2018, Cogger 2014) 
EtymologyFrom the Latin uber (rich) in reference to the numerous coin-like spots on the side. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
