Type locality: karst of Chau Quang village, Quy Hop district, Nghe An province (north central Vietnam) [19°20’ 42’’ N, 105°09’ 03’’ E, elevation 90 m].

TypesHolotype: VUP, given as CQ 020 (Department of Zoology, Vinh University, Vietnam), an adult female, collected on 12/17/2006 by Vi Van Son and Dau Quang Vinh. Paratypes: CQ, ZISP. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Size of this gecko is large (SVL 90.95 – 99.30 mm, TailL 96.96 – 108.31 mm). The pupils are almost undistinguished in life. The head is slightly depressed, wide, with a distinct neck. The snout is depressed. The body is slender and lateral folds are developed. The tail is longer than the length from snout to vent. The sub-caudals are unpaired. There are 9 – 10 supra-labials, 9 – 11 infra-labials. There are 14 – 16 subdigital lamellae under toe I and 19 – 23 under toe IV. There are 30 – 31 interorbital scales at the minimum width, 128 – 130 rows of scales around the mid-body, 36 – 38 scales across the belly in the middle of the body. Both the male and the females have 6 – 7 preanal pores. Femoral pores and larger femoral scales are absent. 
CommentHabitat. All specimens were found in crevices in limestone rock, climbed on stony walls of caves.

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
Etymologynamed after the type locality.
