Diagnosis
CommentSynonymy partly after KHALIKOV & ANANJEVA (pers. comm.). Petrosyan et al. (2003) show that the populations of D. dahli examined have genetically heterogeneous structure (at the level of between-population differences) whereas the populations of D. armeniaca have genetically homogeneous structure characteristic of one clone.

Lacerta armeniaca originated from interspecific hybridization of L. valentini and L. mixta (Darevsky, 1992; MacCulloch et al., 1995, Girnyk et al. 2018). Darevsky 1957 described hybridization between L. saxicola armeniaca and L. s. defilippii.
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
