Comment | Synonymy: partly after I. Doronin (pers. comm. 6 June 2016). MACCULLOCH et al. (2000) synonymized D. s. darevskii und D. s. szczerbaki with Darevskia s. brauneri, which they elevated to full species status. However, some recent authors consider D. szczerbaki as valid species, e.g. TUNIYEV & TUNIYEV 2012.
Habitat and ecology: seaside (the Black Sea) up to Alpine meadows in different biotopes. For example, in ravine’s sole with beech-hornbeam forest, in the oak forest on the slope or along the rivers’ banks [V. Gasso, pers. comm. 14 June 2011].
Distribution: see maps in Tuniyev & Tuniyev 2012 and Doronin 2012: 106 (who also has separate maps for D. b. darevskii, myusserica, and szczerbaki).
