|Types||Holotype: MNHN 2010.0438, previously IRD 1555-G, collected between June and October 2005, by a villager who gave it to JF Trape (Fig. 3).|

|Comment||Diagnosis: The genetic results and the following characters: nasal entire, dark rhombic pattern with the pigment uniformly distributed on scales and the lateral bars alternating with the dorsal saddles (‘‘not-linked scabra’’ pattern of Gans ). Head with two transversal black bars between the nasals and the eyes, and two or three V shaped black bars on the back of the head and the nape.|

|Etymology||The name of the new species refers to its close resemblance to D. scabra.|
