TypesHolotype: MNCR 116, a 1230 mm specimen (B. Carranza). 
CommentSimilar species: Has been confused with Drymobius chloroticus (SAVAGE 2002: 67).

Diagnosis: Dendrophidion paucicarinatum is distinguished from other species of the genus by a combination of having more ventrals (>17), fewer subcaudals (<140), very weak keels on the dorsal scales, and distinct transverse dark lines across each ventral in adults.

Behavior: diurnal
