Reproductionoviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesType: unknown; not in BMNH fide P. Campbell (pers. comm., 25 July 2014). Musters 1983 does not mention any types. 
Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: this species has been considered as a synonym of D. fimbriatus by Hennig 1936, Musters 1983, and others.

D. abbreviatus has a coral pink dewlap in both sexes while D. fimbriatus has a white dewlap with yellow tip (in males); D. fimbriatus females are said to have a blue dewlap but no photos of females seem to be available (U. Manthey, pers. comm. 29 Sep 2011).

Distribution: not in Singapore or not established there (Figueroa et al. 2023). The type locality “Singapore” is in error.
