DistributionIndia (Goa, Madras, Malabar coast, Nilghiri Hills, Travancore, Western Ghats & Eastern Ghats, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu)

Type locality: “Bengale et cote de Malabar”, restricted to Malabar by SMITH 1935.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Species of small to moderate size (maximum snout-vent length 97 mm);nostril directed upward; no A-shaped series of enlarged scales onthe snout; usually twomedian teeth inthe upper jaw; supralabials 10-13, smooth; no thornlike scale on the supraciliary edge; tympanum covered with smooth skin; gular and lateral pouches with slightly enlarged scales; nuchal fold present; dorsals 142-169, smooth, subequal; six ribs inpatagium; hindlimbs about aslong as the distance between the limbs; males with caudal crest (Musters 1983: 22). 
CommentDistribution: No confirmed records from Gujarat fide Patel & Vyas 2019. 
EtymologyNamed after Jean-Jacques Dussumier (1792-1883), a trader-shipowner in the French mercantile marine, who collected specimens from many areas.
