DistributionWestern Samoa and some northern Tongan islands (Futuna, Niuafo’ou, Niuatoputapu, Va’vau, Ha’apai)

Type locality: restricted to Neiafu [Port of Refuge], Vava’u, Vava’u Group, Tonga by AUSTIN & ZUG 1999.

Holotype: AMNH [murphyi] 
Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: not on the Solomon Islands (Bougainville Island) by McCoy 2015 although the species was listed by SMITH 1937 for the Solomons. Note that E. cyanogaster is on the Solomons though. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
