CommentType species: Leptocalamus sclateri BOULENGER 1894 is the type species of the genus Enuliophis McCRANIE & VILLA 1993.

Diagnosis of genus and species in McCRANIE & VILLA 1993. 
EtymologyThe genus has been named after the Greek “hen” (= one), “oule” (= scar or mark), and “ophis” (= snake), referring to its resemblance to Enulius. The species has been named after its collector, Philip Lutley Sclater, who donated the holotype to the BMNH.
