Distribution	Peru, SW Ecuador. Type locality: Grau Tombes, northern Peru; in error, according to SCHMIDT & WALKER (1943:303), who correct it to Grau, Tumbex, Peru.

Types	Holotype: CAS 14554
Diagnosis	Diagnosis: A worm snake of the albifrons-group of the genus Leptotyphlops characterized by extreme attenuation and a dorsal scale count considerably exceeding that of any other species of the genus now known from South America (Klauber 1939: 61).
