Distributionformer USSR (Province Turkman Kopetdag), Kyrgyzstan,
S Turkmenistan (Kopetdagh, Turkmen-Khorasan Mountains),
N Iran (east of the Caspian Sea, south to Razavi Khorasan)

Type locality: near Ashkhabad, Turkmenistan; Bakharden, Kopet Dag, Turkmenistan fide ANDERSON 1999. Vicinity of Baharly (formerly Bäherden), Kopetdag, Turkmenistan (fide Igor Doronin, pers. comm., 23 Aug 2016).

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Anderson 1999: 122. 
CommentSynonymy partly after KHALIKOV & ANANJEVA (pers. comm.). The original proposal of Eublepharis turcmenicus was published in 1977, but a full, formal description, including the type locality and holotype designation, was published by Darevsky only in 1978 (Darevsky, 1978).

Distribution: See map in SMID et al. 2014 for distribution in Iran.
