CommentDistribution: Does not occur on Mauritius (= Ile de France).

Variation: Highly variable species with many different color variants (see Müller et al. 2004 for a collection of photos). Grbic et al. 2015 found 9-15 clades that can be distinguished genetically and morphologically and which may be species.
