Diagnosis
Comment	Group: Belongs to G. australis group. Similar species: populations that may have been assigned to G. xenopus have been described as Gehyra spheniscus.
Etymology	From the Greek xenos (strange) plus pous (foot), referring to the unusual subdigital lamellae. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
