CommentSynonymy: Gekko taylori is a synonym of Gekko siamensis Kluge 2001 and Hikida 2015 (confirmed by O. Pauwels (via S. Meiri, 2 Apr 2017), confirmed by H. Ota (same email thread).

Gekko taylori has a large body and a nostril separated from the rostral, and most closely resembles G. smithii and G. gecko from Southeast Asia. From these species, however, G. taylori was said to differ in having several morphological and karyological features such as relatively large ear openings, greater tubercle row count on dorsum, and greater diploid chromosome number. Not listed by RÖSLER (2000).
Etymologynamed after its type locality (Siam = Thailand).

G. taylori was named after Edward Harrison Taylor, 1889-1978 [obituary in Herp Review 10 (2): 47; see also Borrell 2013 for further biographical notes]
