Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Geophis annulatus PETERS 1870 is listed as a synonym of Tropidodipsas sartorii annulatus by BAUER et al. 1995 who cites “Wallach (in litt.)” as source. Not listed for Honduras by WILSON & MCCRANIE (2002).

Mimicry: Tropidodipsas sartorii mimicks Micrurus elegans (TORRE-LORANCA et al. 2006). 
EtymologyThe specific epithet, sartorii, is a patronym honoring Charles Sartorius, a collector who donated the type specimen to the United States National Museum (LEMOS-ESPINAL & DIXON 2013).
