Comment	Venomous! Synonymy: Zhao 2006 listed Gloydius monticola as a synonym of G. strauchi.
Etymology	The species name, ‘monticola’, is Latin for ‘inhabitant of the mountains’ (Latin “colere” = inhabiting).
