Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: after ZUG 2010. GRISMER et al. 2013 elevated longlingensis (5 specimens), jinpingensis (4 specimens), and dushanensis (2 specimens) to full species status based on DNA sequence data but without any morphological diagnoses. Sung et al. 2018: 369 (Table 5) provide a character table for these 4 species but the characters are largely overlapping.

Distribution: see Figure 2 in GRISMER et al. 2013 for a map of this and other Hemiphyllodactylus species.

Behavior: nocturnal 
EtymologyThe name yunnanensis identifies this species as the gecko from Yunnan, the type locality of Boulenger’s new species.
