Paratypes. Three adult specimens from karst forest near Ban Coong Village, Duc Quang Commune, Ha Lang District, Cao Bang Province, northern Vietnam: ZFMK 94781 (CB 2012.130), male, collected on 2 May 2012 by T. Lehmann, S. Herbst, and H. T. An near the entrance of a cave (22°42.768’N, 106°39.610’E, at an elevation of 601 m a.s.l.); IEBR A.2013.21 (CB 2012.137), male, collected on 3 May 2012 by T. Lehmann, S. Herbst, and H. T. An on a tree beside a forest path (22°42.864’N, 106°39.947’E, at an elevation of 435 m a.s.l.); and ZFMK 94782 (CB 2012.188), female, collected on 22 May 2012 by T. Q. Nguyen, H. T. An, T. Lehmann and S. Herbst on a rock boulder beside a forest path (22°43.202’N, 106°39.389’E, at an elevation of 448 m a.s.l.).
Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017).
|Etymology||Named in honour of Professor Dr. George Zug, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution (Washington DC, USA), in recognition of his contribution to herpetological research in Southeast Asia, particularly the genus Hemiphyllodactylus.|
