DistributionMyanmar (= Burma) (hills in Arakan), Bangladesh

Type locality: "Arakan," Myanmar (= Burma); restricted to "Akyab, near Arakan," Myanmar (= Burma), by Smith 1931:95.  
Reproductionoviparous. 
TypesHolotype: BMNH 87.3.30.1, according to Iverson 1986:37; ZSI 751 (syntype) 
Diagnosis 
CommentThis is one of the most endangered turtle species according to a 2003 assessment by the IUCN.

Abundance: Rare. This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024.
