Type locality: Kuala Ta-han, Tembeling River, in the state of Pahang elevation ca. 150–300 m.  
Reproductionviviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesType: BMNH 1947.1.1.70 (and possibly additional specimens). 
DiagnosisDiagnosis (genus): Smooth scales, nasal scales in contact; 25 scale rows at mid-body, eight upper labials, upper labials 2–3 contact loreal. 
CommentType species: Enhydris pahangensis TWEEDIE 1946: 142 is the type species of the genus Kualatahan MURPHY & VORIS 2014. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality Kuala Tahan, at the confluence of the Tembeling and Tahan Rivers, Pahang, peninsular Malaysia. Gender of the genus is neutral.
