CommentSynonymy partly after DUMÉRIL, BIBRON & DUMÉRIL 1854.

Type species: Coluber Aurora LINNAEUS 1758 is the type species of the genus Lamprophis. Note that KELLY et al. (2011) distinguish between Lamprophis (sensu strictu) and Boaedon (which they resurrected).
