Type locality: Malayisch-thailändisches Grenzgebiet auf der Malayischen Halbinsel.  
Reproductiontriploid, parthenogenetic species. Seems to have a complex parental history with multiple hybridizations between L. guttata (M) × L. reevesii (GRISMER et al. 2014). 
TypesHolotype: MCZ 104381; 28 Paratypes in ZMB, MCZ, ZFMK (ZFMK 30698 ehem. MCZ 101923). 
DiagnosisDiagnosis (original): “Eine durch Triploidie (3n = 54) und ameiotische Parthenogenese von ihrer Ursprungsform (Leiolepis belliana) isolierte Agamospecies von beschränkter Fertilität. In der Rückenzeichnung L. belliana ähnlich: es sind 3 helle kontinuierliche Längsstreifen vorhanden (der mittlere ist stets blasser alsdie äußeren), doch die fahlen Ozellenflecken zwischen den Streifen stehen eng beieinander und ihre dunklen Bänder bilden ein polygonales Maschenwerk. Keine Fabkontrastzeichnung an den Hals- und Rumpfseiten; stattdessen nur unscharfe Querstreifen oder -tüpfel von schwefel bis orangegelber Tönung. In der Pholidose vor allem durch die relativ kleinen Buchschilder von L. belliana abweichend (17-19,4 - 22 gegenüber 10-15,2 - 18 pro Zählstrecke bei L. belliana). Sehr großwüchsig und auffallend langschwänzig.”
