Type locality: “angeblich aus Südafrika”  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: ZMB 5378 (see BAUER 1995).
Holotype: USNM 6833 [pacifica] 
Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: partly after Duellmann 1958: 94.

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyFrom the Latin pūnctāta meaning dotted in reference to it’s dorsal spotted pattern.
