Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy after PETERS & OREJAS-MIRANDA 1970, who also listed Ahaetulla modesta GÜNTHER 1872 as synonym of Leptophis mexicanus (but which has been revalidated to full species status; see Leptophis modestus).
Mostly arboricol.

Relative abundance in Honduras: rare

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
