DistributionSE Congo (Brazzaville) (Shaba Province), E Angola, NW Zambia.

Type locality: “la rivière Kafubo, à Élisabethville” [= Kafubu River, Lubumbashi, Congo-Kinshasa, 11°40' S, 27°29' E]  
Reproductionoviparous (manual imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesSyntypes: BMNH 1946.1.11.7-8 (formerly BMNH 1919.8.26.13-14), RMCA (= MRAC) 2085. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Distinguished from all other members of the L. nigricans group by its paired parietal bones (Fig. 5B). Middorsals 209-267; subcaudals 19-27. Total length/ diameter ratio 40-76; total length/tail length ratio 9.5-15.5. Colouration uniform dark brown, rarely with white chin and throat. (Broadley & Broadley 1999) 
CommentHas been synonymized previously with Leptotyphlops emini.

BROADLEY & WALLACH 2007 gave a description of visceral anatomy of L. kafubi, but no diagnosis. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
