CommentOnly known from the holotype (Amey et al. 2005).

Nomenclature: Lerista quadrivincula Shea 1991 was proposed as a replacement name for Lerista concolor Storr, 1990, as the latter was a junior subjective homonym of Lygosoma (Rhodona) bipes concolor Werner, 1910.

When originally described Lerista concolor Storr 1990 was a junior subjective homonym of Lygosoma (Rhodona) bipes concolor Werner, 1910 – which was at that time (1990) treated as a junior subjective synonym of Lerista lineopunctulata (Dumeril and Bibron, 1839). Consequently, Shea 1991 correctly proposed a replacement name of Lerista quadrivincula to extinguish the homonymy. However, as WELLS l2012: 260 treated the two species-group names Lerista concolor Storr 1990 and Lerista lineopunctulata (Dumeril and Bibron, 1839) as being referable to different genera, the issue of homonymy would not arise, and it becomes necessary under the Code of Zoological Nomenclature to revert to the original use of the species-group name Lerista concolor Storr 1990 - and thus treat Lerista quadrivincula Shea 1991 as a junior synonym of Lerista concolor Storr 1990 [after WELLS 2012: 260].

Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024.
EtymologyFrom the Latin quattuor (four) plus vinculum (small chain), in reference to the dorsal pattern of four lines of spots. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
