CommentSimilar species: has been confused initially with Liolaemus melanops. 
EtymologyThis species is dedicated to the French naturalist and zoologist André Marie Constant Duméril (1774 - 1860). Professor Duméril, taught anatomy, herpetology and ichthyology at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle of Paris from 1801 to 1812.
