Comment | Member of the darwinii group of Liolaemus. Habitat: terrestrial, dwelling on rocky gravel and sandy soil in a Monte landscape with sparse vegetation. Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. |
Etymology | Named after Mr. Alvaro Montañez, park guard Head of the Parque Nacional San Guillermo, for his encouragement and support to all research activities in that protected area. |
