Type locality: "Village d'Ankorongo, de la région Malgache." [=Toliara Province, southwestern Madagascar].

TypesHolotype: MNHN 1978.2789, a 446 mm female (C.A. Domergue). 
Comment 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Alain G. Chabaud (b. 1923), a French expert on nematodes, now retired. He qualified as a physician in 1947 and later became Professor at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris (1960).
