Distribution	SE Australia (New South Wales, Victoria, Capital Territory: scattered populations in the high country in southeastern and the ACT into eastern Victoria. It the north it occurs only about 1400 m elevation and in the south above 900 m) Type locality: Mt. Gingera, Brindabella Ranges, ACT, 35° 35’ S, 148° 46’ E.

Diagnosis
Comment	Rock-dwelling. This species exhibit colour pattern polymorphism (Chapple et al. 2008).
Etymology	Named after the mountain area where the species is found (Latin “montanus”, meaning “pertaining to mountains).
