DiagnosisDiagnosis: Taylor 1965: 754 
CommentDistribution: records from Taiwan and Japan are in error and are due to confusuion with Ophites ruhstrati. Possibly in Bhutan (Lenz 2012).

Synonymy: Dinodon septentrionale chapaense ANGEL & BOURRET 1933 was resurrected from synonymy and elevated to full species status by Wang et al. 2020. 
EtymologyThe specific epithet is an adjective in the nominative case derived from the Latin for ‘northern’, referring to the distribution of this species.
